Just my thoughts...
"John said to them all, 'I baptize you with water. But One who is more powerful than I am will come. I am not good enough to UNTIE THE STRAPS OF HIS SANDALS. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and with fire." Luke 3:16Friday, June 16, 2006
Well, everything with our first flight to Boston was fine, and we spent some time in Boston before going to our hotel. We shopped around, and walked around Harvard's campus, where a lot of presidents have gone including George W. Bush. I think I might want to go there! It's a beautiful campus, and it was built in the 1600's. Pretty old, eh? Then, we drove 11/2 hours into the cape, and to our adorable hotel. Well, actually it was a motel, but it was really nice, so I'm not sure why it was classified as a motel. Anyways, our room had a balcony overlooking the marina and pool. The next day we went on the Cape Cod railroad, for brunch, and I had striped ravioli!! It was the vegetarian dish, surprise, surprsise!! It was really cool, but it rocked and swayed a lot, and I personally thought we were going to fall off the tracks!! Anyways, after that we shopped around, and went back to our hotel where a wrote a postcard to all myfriends that I hope to send soon! LOL. Anyhow, the next day we took the early ferry to Nantucket. (island off of the cape) Really fun. Everything there is so cute! All the houses have cedar shingle siding, and shutters, and all cost one or two million dollars!! It is so expensive to live there! We looked at a house guide for fun, and found a house, not really like grand, but it was $13, 000, 000!!! Amazing how much they think they can charge for those things!! Yes, well then I found a sweatshirt, and wore it back to the mainland, and since the boat was windy and I was cold, I hid inside it. I bought it big, so I could fit my entire body except my feet in it!! yes, i am really wonderwoman!! secret identity...
The next day we slept in, and ate a leisurely breakfast, and stole muffins from the continental breakfast to eat later. Well, I wouldn't really call it stole, because they were free.... Sothen I spent an entire day tanning and swimming. I now have a tan that I am immensly proud of. now We ate dinner out that night, as we did every night. We went to a fancy italian restaurant, and we had a curmudgeon waiter (a loveable grump) who was interesting. Here's a story: I ordered a baked potato and salad. it was 10.95. BUT, since we were eating early, we got an early-bird special. So, -4.00 per person. So it would actually be 6.95. He made the weirdest face, and told me I was spending too much, and looked at the kids menu. (I was ordering off the adults) He looked at it and said, "Get the linguini, that comes with a salad, and it's only 6.95. Or the prime rib (YUCK!!), that comes with a potato. 10.95 is too much to spend." I just said "I think I'm just gonna stick to my potato and salad." He made a face, but that's what I got. When I asked for cheese for my potato, he came backwith parmesan cheese which whasn't what I was expecting, and i don't really like, and he said "tell me when to stop" so i said when I wanted him to stop. "That's good" and as he kept grinding said "r u sure" "yes" "really?" "yes". Then he stopped. FINALLY!!! An interesting guy, that George. He was from Italy. So, then, on te next day, we had to leave before 11:00, so we went back to Boston 'cause our airport was there. We walked the Freedom trail which goes around Boston and stops at historical sights. i saw Paul Revere's tomb, his house, Ben Franklin's family's tomb, Mother goose's grave, Old North Church where the American's in the Revolutionary war saw that the british were coming. They lit candle's in the window so that they could know which way the british were coming by, landor sea. It was funny, because in the church they had stalls for each family, dating back to 1724. So, it had the family's name on it that would have sat there every week. it was pretty cool. Then, it took us and hour and a half to find the airport, andalmost missed our first flight that had a layover in Chicago. Our next flight back to MN was delayed, so we hung out in the Chicago airport for a while. Then, when we finally got on our flight, entire flight. I was so annoyed~~I kept thinking I'm going to tell them," Be quiet, just beacuse you're drunk doesn't mean you can just be rude!" But I never did. too bad that i didn't. Anyway, our flight landed at 11:30 pm, and we got home at almost 1:00. As you can see, I was pretty tired. I just finished unpacking!! That's pretty much it, long enough for you? Yeah, so this next week I'n helping out with VBS, I'm doing music, and being an assistant teacher.
